Cloudworker

Cloudworker is a term I coined for a contest, sponsored by Plantronics, to replace telecommuter. The term won, and the cloudworker.org site, a nonprofit effort devoted to the inventing the future of work through contests, is now live. The site has been developed by my friends at design/innovation startup, WilsonCoLab. I dedicate the cloudworker effort to William Whyte, that smart guy who first started the trend of inventing sticky names for worker archetypes.

The prize from Plantronics was about $2000 worth of audio equipment. Since I merely put a name to a reality being created by a whole bunch of people, I donated $1500 worth of the winnings to cloudworker.org,
